I'm Hayley Mac Miss Galaxy International 2010. I am so proud and honoured to have won this precious title and a big congratulations goes to Emma, Stephanie and Jennifer...my three gorgeous Sister Queens! Emma... I'm so proud of you and the journey has just begun; you have achieved so much at such a young age!
I have been a model for about 5 years now. Before I started modelling or entering beauty pageants, I made sure I had my education behind me first. After school I attended College, then progressed to University where I gained a Degree to a very high standard. When I am ready, I will pursue my career of becoming a teacher or social worker. I will always encourage anyone to do the same...Education first...Fun after!
Since being crowned Miss Galaxy International, my dreams have all come true! I am enjoying every appearance whether it be in the UK or a far. I'm having so much fun spreading the good word of the Galaxy Pageant and I'm sure it will grow bigger and bigger!
There is nothing I enjoy more than wearing my glittery sash and the beautiful Galaxy crown with pride and attending my charity events. Helping others and 'giving something back' is an amazing feeling and is what I believe in. My platform charities include; Help for Heroes, Richard House Hospice , Little Havens Hospice, St Lukes and many more! I truly enjoy helping these charities with raising money; I just wish there were more hours in the day sometimes!
I have also met lots of celebrities at my charity events which is great. However, I just love meeting the every day people; particularly the soldiers injured in Afghanistan...they are so brave. I am honoured to have the chance to meet, listen and speak with them. It touches my heart when I meet the children from the hospices and Great Ormond Street Hospital; they are such an inspiration to me. They have had such an impact on my life that I am running the London Marathon in aid of them this year.
I feel now that through my title, I am a more confident person, and I value the health that I have and realise how precious life is. I will always remember the people that I meet and the impact that they have made on my life. The journey of being Miss Galaxy International is priceless and I'm embracing every experience that my reign brings.
Lastly, I would like to thank the lovely Maria, the UK Galaxy Team and all the judges for making my dreams come true and giving me the chance to 'shine'. Thanks to my family in the UK and in Massachusetts for love and support. A special thank you to Melissa Dill-Benke, my pageant coach, for your time and believing in me! And thank you to Promgirl.net for sponsoring me with amazing dresses!
To future contestants... 'believe in yourself and be yourself!'
God Bless,
Hayley Mac
