Areas of Competition
The Galaxy International Pageant® is a traditional beauty pageant for women of all nations who are ages 15-older. Areas of competition include: Photogenic, Private Interview, Fashion, Swimsuit, and Evening Gown.
Interview - 25%
Galaxy International Pageant® titleholders must be articulate with excellent social and conversational skills. Titleholders must be able to express themselves clearly, diplomatically, and must project a pleasant personality at all times. Interviews are conducted panel style for a duration of 5 minutes. Focuses primarily on delegates' personal information (e.g., hobbies, ambition, etc.) but may include opinion questions that require general knowledge of social and current events.NOTE: This category used to be 20%. As of March 2018, it has been changed to 25%. Wear a dress, cocktail suit, or pantsuit for the interview competition. Judging criteria: conversational skill, personality, demeanor, beauty, grooming, and fashion sense.
Swimswear - 20%
We truly believe in body confidence, no matter your size. However, titleholders should have good body proportion and choose a suit that flatters your shape & figure. The Swimsuit may have cut-outs, mesh, and/or embellishments. Swimsuits must be in good taste - No thongs allowed! Galaxy titleholders must carry themselves with confidence and grace. Delegates may choose a 1-piece or 2-piece.
Judging criteria: fitness, modeling, personality, beauty, grooming and fashion sense
Fashionwear - 20%
Galaxy International Pageant® titleholders must be able to project their own personal sense of style. This segment will be conducted very much like a runway fashion show. Fashion attire can be anything the delegate feels represents a currently popular or stylish ensemble. Judges will be looking for high energy, spirit, and the delegate's sense of contemporary style for today's woman. Judges are not looking for a specific style or designer label but rather how well the attire suits the delegate (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as delegate’s on-stage presentation.Wear a dress, cocktail suit, or pantsuit for the interview competition. Judging criteria: conversational skill, personality, demeanor, beauty, grooming, and fashion sense.
Evening Gown - 20%
Galaxy International Pageant® titleholders must carry themselves with dignity, grace, poise and elegance. Judges will not be evaluating the cost or designer label of the gown, but rather how well it suits the delegate (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as delegate's on-stage presentation.* Evening gown must be floor length. * Teens are permitted to wear sophisticated, beaded gowns. Judging criteria: modeling, on-stage presence, beauty, poise, elegrance and charm.
Photogenic - 15%
Galaxy Pageants relies heavily upon international advertising in industry publications and the internet to promote the Galaxy International Pageant®. Therefore, titleholders must possess photogenic appeal and ability to project an image consistent with beauty and elegance. * Airbrushing should be kept to a minimum. You should look like your photo.NOTE: This category used to be 20%. As of March 2018, we have decided to decrease it to the current 15%. Judging criteria: photogenic appeal, photo quality and clarity, beauty of face, personality, grooming and fashion sense.
Delegates can add up to 10 bonus points to their overall score. You must first make 5 appearances before bonus points go into effect. After 5 appearances, a point will be given to the delegate when an appearance is made with supporting pictures. Delegate must have their sash on in the photo to be accepted as an appearance (crown is optional, but highly recommended!). The Director has the right to refuse any appearance.
